G25 Desalting Column

A G25 desalting column separates proteins and other macromolecules from salts and small molecules by size, making it the standard tool for buffer exchange after purification or labelling. Protein chemistry, enzymology and antibody laboratories use these columns daily.

GVS offers four sizes in this section: 0.8 mL and 1.5 mL beds in 3 mL columns, a 2 mL bed in a 6 mL column and a 4 mL bed in a 12 mL column, in packs of 50, 50, 40 and 20 respectively. The bed volume sets how much sample can be applied while keeping the protein separated from the salt front.

As a rule, choose the smallest bed that comfortably exceeds your sample volume so dilution stays low. For peptides and reversed-phase clean-up rather than size-based exchange, look at the C18 and RPC desalting columns listed nearby. Lancetech Limited can quote on request.
