What we collect
Information you give us. It may include your name, company, address, email address and phone number. Card payments are processed by our payment provider; card details are never stored on our servers.
Information we collect about you. Lab Assistant and contact messages. What you type into the Lab Assistant and the Contact usform, and the answers you receive, are kept so our team can follow up and improve the service. If you are signed in, the conversation is linked to your account. The Lab Assistant may use an AI provider to understand your question; only the text of the conversation is sent to it.
Information from other sources. We may receive information about you if you use other services we provide, and from third parties such as credit reference agencies where credit terms are requested.
Who we share your data with
We work with third parties — suppliers, manufacturers, business partners, sub-contractors in technical, payment and delivery services, analytics providers and credit reference agencies — and may share your information with them:
- with business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors for the performance of any contract we enter into with you;
- with analytics and search-engine providers that help us improve and optimise the site;
- with credit reference agencies to assess your credit standing where that is a condition of entering into a contract with you;
- with any member of our group of companies, as defined in section 1159 of the Companies Act 2006.

How long we keep it
We keep your personal data only for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it for. Order, quotation and invoice records are kept for seven years to meet UK tax and accounting obligations. Account details are kept while your account is open and for a reasonable period afterwards. Marketing preferences are kept until you change them, and the record of your consent is kept with the date it was given so we can evidence it. Enquiries that do not become orders are kept only as long as we need them to answer you.
Your rights
You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes, to access the information we hold about you, and to have it corrected or erased, in accordance with the UK GDPR.
