Capsules
Capsules are self-contained, disposable filter units that combine membrane and housing in one body, ready to drop into a process line without a separate housing. Biopharmaceutical, cell culture and buffer preparation teams use capsule filters for sterile and bioburden-reduction filtration of liquids.
The 550 GVS listings centre on PES (polyethersulfone) membrane capsules at 0.1 µm, 0.22 µm and 0.45 µm, with connection options such as 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch NPT male, 1/4 inch hose barb and 1.5 inch flange, and sterilised versions. Different capsule sizes give a range of filtration areas for small batches up to larger volumes.
Choose the pore size by purpose: 0.22 µm for sterile filtration, 0.45 µm for clarification or pre-filtration, and 0.1 µm where mycoplasma removal is required. Then match the connection to your tubing or piping and the size to batch volume. Pleated cartridges and housings in the bioprocessing range suit larger flows. Lancetech Limited can quote capsule filters by the case.
