Petrochemical Cetane Improver Standards
Petrochemical Cetane Improver Standards are calibration standards for measuring 2-ethylhexyl nitrate, the additive used to raise the cetane number of diesel fuel. Fuel blenders, additive suppliers and petroleum testing laboratories use them to check dosing levels.
The four Reagecon standards form a complete calibration series: 2-ethylhexyl nitrate at 0.03%, 0.1%, 0.2% and 0.5%, each prepared in Chevron Phillips high cetane reference fuel. Using a consistent reference fuel as the matrix means the standards behave like the diesel samples they are compared against.
Most laboratories will want the full set to build a four-point calibration curve spanning typical treat rates, but a single level can serve as a check standard for an established method. Related diesel work, such as FAME content, is covered under FAME Calibration Standards in Organics. Ask us for a quotation on the complete series.
