Atomic Absorption Releasing Agent

An Atomic Absorption Releasing Agent is added to samples and standards to overcome chemical interferences in flame AAS, freeing the analyte so the signal reflects its true concentration. Water, soil, food and clinical laboratories measuring metals by atomic absorption use releasing agents routinely.

Reagecon supplies four lanthanum releasing agents here: 1.0% lanthanum and 5.0% lanthanum, each available in hydrochloric acid or in nitric acid. All four are prepared for atomic absorption use and are added to calibration standards and samples in the same proportion.

Select the acid to match the matrix of your standards and digests, and the lanthanum strength according to your method; many procedures specify the percentage directly.
