FAME Standards (Ph.Eur)

FAME Standards (Ph.Eur) are fatty acid methyl ester mixtures prepared to the European Pharmacopoeia chapter 2.4.22 method for the composition of fatty acids by gas chromatography. Pharmaceutical QC, excipient and oil testing laboratories use them to set up and check this test.

The four Reagecon listings follow the chapter's reference mixes: a 5 compound mix for 2.4.22-2, a 6 compound mix for 2.4.22-1 and an 8 compound mix for 2.4.22-3, each supplied neat, together with an 8 compound Method A reference solution prepared in n-heptane according to Table 3. Supplying the mixes neat lets the analyst dilute to the working concentration the monograph specifies.

Match the mix to the subsection of 2.4.22 cited in your product monograph, and choose the n-heptane solution where a ready-to-inject reference is more convenient than diluting a neat standard. For FAME standards in diesel matrices, see FAME Calibration Standards. Request a quotation if you need a mix for another pharmacopoeial chapter.
