C18 Desalting Column

A C18 desalting column is a small reversed-phase cartridge used to remove salts and buffer components from peptide or protein samples before mass spectrometry or further chromatography. Proteomics, biochemistry and bioanalytical laboratories use them as a quick clean-up step.

This section lists two GVS formats: a 50 mg bed in a 1 mL cartridge, supplied in packs of 100 for small-volume samples, and a 500 mg bed in a 6 mL cartridge, supplied in packs of 30 for larger loads. Both run on a standard SPE vacuum manifold such as those listed in the same chromatography consumables range.

Pick the bed mass by the amount of sample to bind: the 50 mg size handles small digests, while the 500 mg size suits larger or more dilute samples that need concentrating.
