ICP Multi Element Tuning Standards

ICP Multi Element Tuning Standards are run before analysis to optimise instrument settings such as sensitivity and mass response across the element range on ICP-MS and ICP-OES. Every laboratory operating these instruments uses a tuning solution as part of daily start-up.

Four Reagecon tuning standards are listed: a 4 element standard in 5% nitric acid, a 7 element standard in 2-5% nitric acid with 0.5% hydrochloric acid, a 10 element standard in 2-5% nitric acid and an 11 element standard in 5% nitric acid.

Choose a tuning standard whose elements span the mass range you analyse so that performance is checked at low, mid and high masses, and keep the matrix consistent with your rinse and blank solutions.
