MV-C8
MV-C8 is where the Vintage Chrom Maverick C8 reversed-phase HPLC columns are listed. Analysts in pharmaceutical QC, clinical and environmental laboratories use octyl columns to shorten run times or sharpen peaks for compounds that are over-retained on C18.
The 94 listings use 100 Å silica bonded with C8, supplied in 3 µm, 5 µm and 10 µm particle sizes and in formats including 125 × 4 mm and 125 × 4.6 mm. Sitting between the Maverick C18 and C4 phases in hydrophobicity, the C8 material gives intermediate retention and often slightly different selectivity for mid-polarity drugs and metabolites.
