KM-C4

KM-C4 HPLC columns provide the Vintage Chrom KSil C4 phase, a butyl reversed-phase packing with low hydrophobicity. Protein chemists and analysts of large or very hydrophobic molecules use KSil C4 columns where the longer C8 and C18 chains hold the sample back too strongly.

The range has 54 listings: 125 × 4 mm and 125 × 4.6 mm columns, 100 Å pores, and a choice of 3.5 µm, 5 µm or 10 µm particles. Note the 100 Å pore size; for very large proteins the wide-pore Bio sections may be a closer fit.

Select 3.5 µm when resolution between closely related species matters, and 10 µm when loading or low pressure is the aim. Because the KSil C4, C8 and C18 columns share the same dimensions and silica, you can screen all three with no change to the plumbing. Ask for a quotation.
