Indicators

Indicators are colour change solutions added to a sample to show the endpoint of a titration or the approximate pH of a solution. Chemistry, water analysis, pharmaceutical and teaching laboratories keep a set of titration indicators alongside their volumetric solutions.

Sixty-one Reagecon indicator solutions are listed, among them Bromocresol Green 0.04 percent in either methanol or aqueous solution, Alizarine Red indicator solution and o-Cresolphthalein at 20 g/L in 70 percent ethanol. Several indicators are offered in more than one solvent or strength.

Select the indicator whose colour change falls at the pH of your titration endpoint, and the solvent version your method specifies. Volumetric solutions, concentrates and non aqueous titrants are listed in the other Titration ranges. Lancetech Limited can quote indicators not currently shown.
