Grid Membrane

A Grid Membrane is a sterile nitrocellulose filter disc printed with a counting grid. Water testing and microbiology laboratories use grid membranes to trap bacteria from a filtered sample and count colonies after incubation.

The twelve GVS listings are 47 mm discs supplied sterile in packs of 250 or 1,000, with pore sizes of 0.2 µm, 0.4 µm and 0.45 µm. White gridded membranes are standard, and a black gridded version is available for better contrast with light-coloured colonies.

Pick 0.45 µm for routine coliform work, 0.2 µm when finer retention is required, and the larger pack for high-throughput laboratories.
