Drain Disc

A drain disc is a support disc placed under a membrane in a filter holder so filtrate can flow evenly away from the membrane surface. Laboratories running large-diameter pressure or vacuum filtration use drain discs to protect membranes from blocking or tearing.

This section holds six GVS drain discs spanning 13 mm and 42 mm diameters in packs of 100 and 90 mm and 293 mm diameters in packs of 25, matching the common filter holder formats found alongside the disc and sheet membrane range.

Order the drain disc to the same diameter as the membrane it supports and the holder it sits in; larger formats such as 293 mm are typical for high-volume batches where an unsupported membrane would deform.
