Cell strainer
Cell strainers are sterile mesh filters that fit over a centrifuge tube to remove clumps and debris from a cell suspension. Flow cytometry, primary cell isolation and tissue dissociation workflows depend on them to produce single-cell suspensions.
Eighteen GVS strainers are listed. Pore sizes shown include 40 µm, 70 µm and 100 µm, colour-coded by frame, with versions for 50 mL tubes and a plus version for 500 mL tubes. All are sterile and individually packaged, supplied 50 per box and 200 per case.
Pick the pore size by the cell or tissue type: 40 µm for fine single-cell suspensions, 70 µm for general use and 100 µm where larger cells or aggregates must pass through. Match the strainer to the tube size you centrifuge in, and keep the colour coding in mind when several pore sizes are in use at one bench. Centrifuge tubes, bottles and tube stands are listed in the neighbouring Labware sections. Lancetech Limited can quote cell strainers on request.
