Cell Spreaders

Cell Spreaders are the tools used to spread a liquid sample evenly across an agar plate. Microbiology laboratories in food, water, clinical and pharmaceutical testing use them for plate counts and isolation work every day.

Seven GVS spreaders are listed, all polypropylene and autoclavable. Two sizes are shown: a 215 mm blue spreader with a 30 mm blade and a 240 mm yellow spreader with a 60 mm blade. Each is available in individual peel packs that are gamma sterile, 100 per pack, or in packs of 10 for autoclaving before use.

Choose the 30 mm blade for standard Petri dishes and the wider 60 mm blade for larger plates or faster spreading. Individually wrapped sterile spreaders save autoclave time and suit high-throughput plating. Sterile sample bags and blender bags for preparing the samples are listed in the same Labware section.
