Analytical Volumetric Non Aqueous Titrants

Analytical volumetric non aqueous titrants are standardised solutions prepared in alcohols or other organic solvents for titrating samples that are insoluble in, or react poorly in, water. Pharmaceutical, petrochemical and fine chemical laboratories use them for weak acid and weak base assays.

The 17 Reagecon titrants include Barium Perchlorate 0.005M alcoholic solution, Lithium Methoxide 0.1M in toluene and methanol, Methanolic Hydrochloric Acid 0.5M and Morpholine 0.5M in methanol, each supplied as an Analytical Volumetric Solution (AVL).

Match the titrant and solvent system to the method you are following, since endpoint behaviour depends on both.
