Alkyl Phenyl HPLC columns pair a phenyl ring with an alkyl spacer on silica, giving analytical chemists an alternative selectivity to straight-chain C18 and C8 phases. This section of the HPLC Columns range lists the Vintage Chrom ARO Alkyl Phenyl family.

The 54 listings cover 125 × 4 mm and 125 × 4.6 mm column formats packed with 3 µm, 5 µm or 10 µm particles, all on 100 Å pore silica. Phenyl-type phases are typically chosen when aromatic or moderately polar compounds co-elute on a conventional alkyl column, because pi-pi interaction adds a second retention mechanism.
