LIEDER

LIEDER is a German producer of prepared microscope slides for biology, medicine and earth science teaching, assembling curated slide series on histology, botany, zoology, microbiology and petrology, along with the boxes to store them.

Lancetech Limited lists 117 LIEDER microscopy items, 104 of them prepared slide sets. Examples include Bacteria, a series of 25 slides; the Agriculture and Forestry programme, with Part II covering bacteria and parasites of crops across 22 slides and Part III covering animal pests, symbiosis and soil life across 24; and the Invertebrates student sets, offered as a basic set of 6 and a supplementary set of 12. The LMK12 box holds 12 rock thin sections.

Schools, sixth-form colleges, universities and museum education teams use these sets so that every student sees a correctly stained, labelled specimen. Start with a basic student set for a new topic, add the supplementary series as the syllabus deepens, and pick subject-specific collections for agriculture or microbiology modules.
