Melting Point Standards
Melting point standards are pure organic solids with a stated melting range, used to calibrate melting point apparatus. Pharmaceutical QC, teaching and chemical laboratories use them to confirm instrument accuracy across the temperature range they routinely measure.
Sixteen Reagecon items are listed, including Benzophenone at 47°C to 49°C, Phenacetin at 134°C to 136°C and Sulphanilamide at 164°C to 166°C, together with a three compound set of Benzophenone, Benzoic Acid and Anthraquinone for multi-point calibration.
A low, mid and high standard spread around your typical sample melting points gives the most useful calibration, which is what the sets are assembled for. Related physicochemical standards for refractive index and density are listed alongside. Lancetech Limited can quote individual compounds or complete sets.
