PSP-SCX

PSP-SCX is the Vintage Chrom Psep SCX range of strong cation exchange HPLC columns. Pharmaceutical and clinical laboratories use SCX columns to retain and separate basic drugs, amines, amino acids and other cationic species by charge rather than hydrophobicity.

The 40 listings are supplied on 85 Å silica carrying a strong cation exchange functionality, in 5 µm and 10 µm particle sizes, with formats including 125 × 4 mm and 125 × 4.6 mm. Retention is controlled by mobile phase pH and ionic strength, so buffer choice becomes the main method variable. The SCX column complements the reversed-phase Psep ODS and C8 columns as an orthogonal technique.

Use strong cation exchange when basic compounds tail badly on alkyl phases or when the sample matrix contains neutral interferences that an ion-exchange column will simply not retain. Choose particle size by resolution and pressure. Lancetech Limited can quote any Psep SCX column.
