SB-C18

SB-C18 columns carry the Vintage Chrom Vintage Sorb C18 phase, a 10 µm octadecyl silica for reversed-phase HPLC. This part of the HPLC Columns range is used by QC and development laboratories that need a robust, high-capacity C18 rather than a small-particle, high-efficiency one.

The 28 listings cover 125 x 4 mm and 125 x 4.6 mm formats, each available with a 60 Å or 100 Å pore. The narrower pore gives more surface area for small molecules, while the 100 Å version is the more general-purpose option and suits larger analytes.

A 10 µm C18 is often chosen for method transfer from older instruments, for sample clean-up before a more demanding analysis, or for scaling up a separation where the loading capacity of the packing is the limiting factor.
