Cell Scrapers

Cell Scrapers are the sterile hand tools used to lift adherent cells from flasks and dishes mechanically. Cell culture laboratories reach for them when harvesting cells for lysis, counting or passaging where a detachment reagent is not wanted.

Four GVS scrapers are listed, in 25 cm and 39 cm lengths. Each length is offered as a standard blade or with a lifter blade, sterilised, non-pyrogenic and individually wrapped, with 100 per bag or case.

The 25 cm scraper suits dishes and small flasks, while the 39 cm length reaches the far corners of larger flasks and the 600 mL extended format. Choose the blade style to suit the vessel shape and the way you prefer to work. Cell spreaders for plating onto agar are a separate listing in the Labware section and should not be confused with scrapers.
