Sterilizing Filter
A sterilizing filter removes bacteria from a liquid by passing it through a 0.22 µm membrane, producing a sterile filtrate for media, buffers or product. Microbiology, cell culture and pharmaceutical laboratories use this unit format for small batch volumes.
GVS lists two versions here, both 50 mm diameter PES units at 0.22 µm, supplied sterilised and individually bagged, ten to a pack: one plain unit and one fitted with a filling bell that holds the liquid above the membrane during filtration.
Choose the filling bell version when pouring or pipetting directly into the filter, and the plain version where the liquid is delivered by another route. Larger volumes are better served by the capsules and cartridges elsewhere in the bioprocessing range, and the disk filter section covers Luer-ended units. Lancetech Limited can quote case quantities on request.
