KM-C8
KM-C8 HPLC columns hold the Vintage Chrom KSil C8 phase, an octyl reversed-phase packing with intermediate retention. Laboratories use them when a C18 method runs too long or when a moderately hydrophobic analyte needs a gentler phase.
Fifty-four listings span 125 × 4 mm and 125 × 4.6 mm columns in 3.5 µm, 5 µm and 10 µm particle sizes, all on 100 Å silica. The format set is identical to the KM-C18 and KM-C4 sections.
A KSil C8 column is the logical intermediate when C18 over-retains and C4 under-retains; keep bore and particle size constant so that only chain length changes. For routine quantification, 5 µm is the common choice; 3.5 µm improves resolution and 10 µm handles larger injections. We can quote any configuration.
