PSP-ODS
PSP-ODS lists the Vintage Chrom Psep ODS reversed-phase HPLC columns, ODS being the octadecylsilane or C18 phase. Laboratories running pharmacopoeial and other long-standing C18 methods use columns of this kind for routine assay and content uniformity testing.
The 40 listings are built on 85 Å silica with C18 bonding, supplied in 5 µm and 10 µm particle sizes and in formats such as 125 × 4 mm and 125 × 4.6 mm. Within the Psep family, ODS provides the strongest hydrophobic retention, with the Psep C8 as the shorter-chain alternative and the PAC, SCX and silica columns offering wholly different mechanisms.
For most reversed-phase assays the 5 µm ODS column is the sensible starting point; move to 10 µm when back pressure or sample load is the constraint. Keep dimensions fixed when reproducing a validated method. Lancetech Limited can quote any Psep ODS format.
