NAPP-C5
NAPP-C5 is the Vintage Chrom Nappa C5 range of reversed-phase HPLC columns, a pentyl phase with low hydrophobic retention. Protein chemists and analysts of highly lipophilic compounds use C5 columns when even C8 holds their samples for too long.
Fifty-four listings are offered on 100 Å silica in 3 µm, 5 µm and 10 µm particle sizes, including 125 × 4 mm and 125 × 4.6 mm formats. With a shorter alkyl chain than the Nappa C8 and C18(2) phases, the C5 material elutes hydrophobic analytes at lower organic strength and allows shallower gradients, which can preserve resolution between closely related species.
