DS-PH
DS-PH HPLC columns are the Vintage Chrom DSil Phenyl family, a phenyl-bonded reversed-phase line listed separately from the ARO phenyl ranges. They give pharmaceutical and environmental analysts a phenyl selectivity for aromatic analytes on the DSil silica base.
Eighty listings cover 125 × 4 mm columns in 3 µm and 5 µm particle sizes with 100 Å or 150 Å pores. The 150 Å option sits between the usual 100 Å small-molecule silica and the wider 200 Å and 300 Å columns found elsewhere in the phenyl ranges.
For routine aromatic separations begin with 5 µm and 100 Å; move to 150 Å for larger or more complex molecules and to 3 µm when peak capacity is the limiting factor. Because phenyl phases retain through pi-pi interaction as well as hydrophobicity, expect selectivity changes rather than a simple shift when moving from C18.
