Flouro-Phenyl
Flouro-Phenyl HPLC columns, more commonly written fluorophenyl, use a fluorinated phenyl ligand that adds dipole and pi-pi interactions to standard hydrophobic retention. Pharmaceutical and clinical laboratories use them for halogenated compounds, positional isomers and polar aromatics that C18 struggles to resolve.
The 108 listings are Vintage Chrom FSep Phenyl and FSep Phenyl HS columns. Sample formats are 125 × 4 mm with 3 µm and 5 µm particles; the HS variant is supplied on 60 Å silica and the standard phase on 100 Å.
Fluorinated phases are a strong option when you need orthogonal selectivity for LC-MS method development. Pick the HS 60 Å column for maximum retention of small analytes and the 100 Å phase for general use. A sister Fluro-Octyl section offers the alkyl counterpart in the same formats.
