FAME Calibration Standards

FAME Calibration Standards are reference blends of fatty acid methyl ester in diesel used to calibrate instruments that measure biodiesel content. Fuel blenders, refineries and petroleum testing laboratories use them to verify FAME levels in diesel blends.

Two Reagecon standards are listed. A FAME calibration sample at 6 volume percent prepared according to ASTM D7806 covers the common low-blend range, and a 30% FAME calibration standard serves higher blend ratios. Both are prepared in Chevron Phillips high cetane reference fuel so that the matrix is consistent with the diesel samples under test.

Select the 6% standard for routine checks on low-blend diesel and the 30% standard where higher biodiesel blends are produced or received; laboratories handling both will want the pair. For FAME composition standards used in pharmacopoeial testing rather than fuel analysis, see FAME Standards (Ph.Eur). Ask us for a quotation on an intermediate concentration.
