Transfer Mem

Transfer Mem is the section for GVS blotting transfer membranes, the media onto which proteins or nucleic acids are moved after gel electrophoresis. Research, biotech and diagnostics laboratories running Western, Southern or Northern blots will find the common membrane chemistries here.

The 82 listings cover pure nitrocellulose rolls, PVDF rolls and ReproCharg NY charged nylon sheets, all at 0.45 µm pore size. Rolls are supplied in 300 x 3000 mm format for cutting to size, while sheets come pre-cut in 300 x 500 mm and 305 x 305 mm packs for standard gel formats.

Choosing between them comes down to the target: nitrocellulose suits routine protein transfer, PVDF is often preferred where blots will be stripped and reprobed, and charged nylon is the usual choice for nucleic acid hybridisation.
