SB-CN
The SB-CN section of the HPLC Columns range lists Vintage Chrom Vintage Sorb Cyano columns, a cyanopropyl-bonded silica. Cyano phases are valued by method developers because they can be run in either normal-phase or reversed-phase mode, offering a different selectivity from alkyl chains.
Every one of the 28 SB-CN columns uses 10 µm particles in a 125 mm length. Internal diameters of 4 mm and 4.6 mm are available, each paired with a 60 Å or 100 Å pore, so the same chemistry can be matched to an existing method or scaled slightly for solvent economy.
Reach for a cyano column when polar or moderately polar compounds co-elute on a C18, when a normal-phase separation needs a less active surface than bare silica, or when a weakly retentive reversed-phase option is required. Lancetech Limited can quote any SB-CN column and advise on which pore size fits your analytes.
