MNPK-PH
MNPK-PH holds the Vintage Chrom Minipak PH phenyl-bonded HPLC columns. Analysts separating aromatic drugs, flavour compounds and positional isomers use phenyl phases for the pi-pi interactions that alkyl columns lack.
Sixty-eight listings are available, all on 125 Å silica in 5 µm and 10 µm particle sizes, with sample formats of 125 × 4.6 mm and 125 × 3.9 mm. The phenyl ligand gives lower hydrophobic retention than C18 but adds aromatic selectivity, so compounds that co-elute on an alkyl phase often separate here, particularly in methanol-based mobile phases where pi interactions are strongest.
A phenyl column is a sensible second phase during method development and a first choice when the analytes are aromatic. Use the 3.9 mm bore to match older methods and the 5 µm packing for the sharpest peaks. Lancetech Limited can quote any Minipak PH column.
