HPLC Guard Columns

HPLC guard columns are short cartridges fitted ahead of the analytical column to trap particulates and strongly retained contaminants, protecting the main column. Any laboratory running HPLC on real samples such as food extracts, biological fluids or environmental waters uses them.

Sample listings include the Nucleogel VA 21/4 SUGAR Pb, Ca and Na guard columns, 21 mm long by 4 mm ID and supplied in packs of two, which pair with guard column holder C, and the VarioPrep VP 10/8 holder for 8 mm ID guard cartridges.

To choose correctly, match the guard column's phase to your analytical column, for example a SUGAR Pb guard for a lead-form sugar column, and confirm the holder reference quoted on the product page, since cartridges and holders are sold separately.
