Di-Phenyl
Di-Phenyl HPLC columns carry a diphenyl ligand, giving a dense aromatic surface for separating ring-containing and conjugated molecules. Analysts in pharmaceutical development and natural-product chemistry use diphenyl columns as an orthogonal alternative to C18 and to single-phenyl phases.
This section lists 162 Vintage Chrom ARO Diphenyl columns. Sample products are 125 × 4 mm with 3 µm or 5 µm particles and 100 Å, 200 Å or 300 Å pore sizes, so the same aromatic chemistry is available for small molecules and for larger peptides and proteins.
Compared with the Bi-Phenyl section, which has the same dimensions and pore options, the diphenyl ligand presents its aromatic rings differently and therefore gives a distinct selectivity; running both during method screening is a sensible approach. Start at 100 Å and 5 µm unless your analyte or method dictates otherwise. Lancetech Limited can quote any configuration.
