Flame Photometry Industrial Standards

Flame Photometry Industrial Standards serve laboratories that measure alkali and alkaline earth metals at higher concentrations than clinical work requires. Water treatment, process control and materials laboratories use them to calibrate flame photometers for samples expressed in ppm rather than mmol/L.

Sixteen Reagecon industrial standards are listed, including barium at 1000 ppm, 3000 ppm and 10,000 ppm and calcium at 10,000 ppm. The concentrations are chosen so that working standards can be prepared by simple dilution to suit the range of a given instrument.

Pick the concentration closest to the top of your calibration range to limit dilution steps, and keep a standard for each element you report.
