Filter Bag

Filter bags are the coarse, high-capacity stage of a bioprocess or utility filtration train, catching bulk particulate before finer cartridges and capsules. Process engineers, water and buffer preparation teams and pilot plants use them inside a bag housing for clarification.

GVS lists nine bags in this section, all size 2 at 180 mm diameter by 810 mm length. Options include sewn PET media with a stainless steel seal ring at 1 µm and 5 µm, and welded polypropylene media with a polypropylene collar at 0.5 µm and 1 µm. Each is supplied individually.

Pick the micron rating to protect the next filter downstream, and choose welded polypropylene where an all-polypropylene construction is preferred or PET with a steel ring for a conventional housing fit.
