Silica Membrane
Silica membrane is the binding medium at the heart of nucleic acid spin columns, capturing DNA or RNA from lysate under chaotropic conditions and releasing it in low-salt buffer. Kit manufacturers and molecular biology laboratories that assemble their own columns buy it in sheet form.
This section currently holds a single GVS listing: silica membrane sheets measuring 210 x 297 mm, supplied in packs of 100. The sheet format lets a user punch discs to whatever diameter their column housing needs, rather than buying pre-cut frits.
The membrane pairs with the GVS spin columns and lysis-filtration columns listed in the same chromatography consumables range, which supply the column bodies and pre-filtration step. If you need a different sheet size, a pre-cut disc or larger quantities, Lancetech Limited can quote these on request.
