C2
C2 HPLC columns bond an ethyl chain to silica, placing them just above C1 in hydrophobicity and well below C8 and C18. Analysts use a C2 column to retain hydrophobic compounds, or to elute large molecules that bind too strongly to longer alkyl phases.
This section lists 107 Vintage Chrom columns across three variants: Bond C2, Bond C2 HS and Bond C2 MU. The sample formats are 125 × 4 mm with 5 µm and 10 µm particles and pores of 60 Å, 100 Å or 120 Å, with the HS variant appearing on the 60 Å silica.
Selection is mainly about pore size and variant. The 60 Å HS columns offer the highest surface area for small analytes, while the 120 Å MU option gives larger molecules more room. Compare the variant letters against your existing method before ordering. We can supply a quotation for any of the listed configurations.
